Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Begbie Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Octavio Saades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franco comes to the cage accompanied by Born Slippy. Saades is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Ho Train. Begbie Franco could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Octavio Saades's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Octavio Saades!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saades throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
We've been informed that Saades has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Saades delivers a nice body kick.
Saades throws a low kick, looking for Franco's leg but Franco calmly moves out of range.
Saades throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Saades swinging wildly here.
Nice uppercut there from Franco.
Franco throws a body kick that misses.
Saades jabs Franco to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Franco feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Saades's calf.
Franco takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Saades plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Franco moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Franco misses with a lunging right hand
and Saades counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Begbie Franco is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Franco takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Franco takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Franco shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Saades lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Saades uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Franco.
Saades throws a wild body kick that Franco sees coming a mile off.
Franco throws a low kick, looking for Saades's leg but Saades calmly moves out of range.
Franco's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Saades connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Franco scrambles back to his feet.
Franco takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Saades pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A solid leg kick lands there for Franco.
Franco takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Saades connects with a body shot.
Franco is looking to score with low kicks.
Saades looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Franco throws a nice outside leg kick.
Saades lands a lovely overhand right.
Saades throws a jab when Franco was well out of range.
Franco thinks about countering with a head kick.
Saades uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Franco.
Saades stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Franco on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Saades lands a slapping body shot.
Saades misses with a body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A left lands for Saades.
Sloppy strikes from Franco. Those never looked like landing.
Octavio Saades seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Franco misses with a double jab.
Saades misses with an attempted mid kick.
Saades scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Franco doesn't seem bothered though.

Saades scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Saades prevents Franco from improving his position.
Saades is controlling the pace.
Saades lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Franco controlling the position well.

Saades is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Franco defends it well.
Saades seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Octavio Saades dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Saades ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Saades lands a glancing blow to the side of Franco's head.
Franco takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Saades getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Saades has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Saades scores with a nice right hand.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Saades! Franco is out on his feet! Saades rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Franco is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Franco is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Octavio Saades!
