Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
34 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Austin Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bernard Bear!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear digs a good hook to Powers's body.
Bear avoids the body shot from Powers.
Powers with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bear to score with a decent uppercut.
Bear scores with a jab.
Powers misses with a head kick.
Powers misses with a body kick.
Bear lands a left and a right that send Powers crashing to the mat, dazed. Bear thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Powers is rocked!
It looks like Austin Powers has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bear misses with an uppercut.
Powers looks for the body kick but Bear saw that one coming.
Bear takes a kick to the side of the head.
Bear throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Powers on the side of the head.
Oh Powers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Powers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Powers seems to have got his legs back now.
Bear moves out of range as Powers throws a body kick.
Bear ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Powers moves away.
Bear throws a hook to the side of Powers's head but Powers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Powers misses with a kick to the body.
Bear lands a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Powers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bear connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bear lands a body shot.
Powers doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Powers is breathing heavily.
Bear takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Powers takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Powers misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bear clobbers Powers with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Powers takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bear with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Bear cracks Powers with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Powers looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bear finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bear fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Powers looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Powers takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Bear misses with a double jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bear connects with a right that clearly hurt Powers. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Bear proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Powers collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bernard Bear!
A relieved looking Bernard Bear thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
