PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Snuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snuka has chosen Superfly by Curtis Mayfield as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Snuka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Prime was covering up waiting for the punch and Snuka finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Snuka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prime swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Prime is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Snuka is controlling him.
Prime controls Snuka momentarily but Snuka frees himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prime will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Prime is on top in guard.

Prime got a little sloppy there for a moment and Snuka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Prime has managed to get both his arms back between Snuka's legs - danger averted.
Snuka is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Snuka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Snuka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Prime accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snuka throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Prime loads up on a big left hand. Snuka felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Prime looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Snuka can't hide his disappointment, as Prime celebrates the victory.

Optimus Prime really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that My$tic Clothing ~ (`10%Laundry`) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
Jimmy Snuka was interviewed post fight and said 'Well ya can't climb a hill with out breaking some eggs! Or something like that...'.
