Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Banana Split (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Banana Split!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Split changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vera looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Split looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Split wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vera keeps working.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Split working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Vera is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Split trying to control the position but Vera is working away.
Vera tries to bench press Split off him but Split keeps the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Vera doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Split counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vera won't be happy with that.
Vera is looking to regain half guard here but Split keeps moving and retains side control.

Split tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Split has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Split must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Vera has his foot on Split's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Split works his way back into a safe position though.
