The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galante ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kikovic moves away.

Horrible takedown attempt by Kikovic or perhaps it was just good defense by Galante, which made it look bad.
Galante now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Galante is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kikovic defends well.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Kikovic looking to score a takedown here. Galante is defending well but Kikovic drives through and ends up in Galante's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Galante has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kikovic is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Galante.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kikovic here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dusan Kikovic.
Well Kikovic has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
