The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Cena throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Cena finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cena really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cena does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Smith wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Cena uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smith postures up in Cena's guard and throws a big left but Cena blocks it.
Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Cena feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Cena changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smith pushes Cena off and gets back to his feet.
Cena gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. Cena manages to retain guard.
Cena working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cena feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Smith has his foot on Cena's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cena works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cena decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Smith, up you get!

Cena lands a big shot there that rocks Smith but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Cena goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Smith turns into him and now he's in Cena's guard.

Cena manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Emmett Smith will probably get the nod.
