Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Geoffrey Cline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Josei Mulq!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mulq enables Cline to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mulq manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mulq throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Cline stays in close to Mulq's body and controls the position.
Mulq is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cline sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Mulq really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cline. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cline advances to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cline content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Mulq wants to control but Cline is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cline is taking a breather. Mulq says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Cline's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Cline is looking for a kimura but Mulq is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cline to get the leverage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cline has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mulq defend it? Cline steps over the head and cranks it - Mulq is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cline!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Geoffrey Cline!
