Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Neutron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Payne has chosen Bad Company as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Neutron.
Payne appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Neutron is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Payne misses with a hook.
Neutron lands a nice hook to Payne's body. Payne takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Neutron shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Payne pinned against the cage. Payne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Payne steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Neutron.
Neutron takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Neutron thuds a left hand into Payne's body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neutron attempts a counter takedown but Payne avoids it well and moves away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Neutron. Payne does a little dance to reset his feet.
A nice inside leg kick there by Payne. That's going to slow Neutron down.

and Neutron counters with a straight right hand.
We've been told by Neutron's head coaches at Odins Body Workshop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The fighters circling - Neutron throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Neutron shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Neutron showed some decent athleticism there.

Neutron wants to work for an arm triangle but Payne is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Neutron is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Payne defends it well.
Payne wants to control the action here but instead Neutron manages to pass to full mount!

Payne has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Neutron struggling to land strikes to the head as Payne covers up.
Payne is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Neutron has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Neutron has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neutron is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Payne has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Neutron has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Payne taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Neutron doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carlos Neutron!
