PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Helios black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and raymond batman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). black's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Beastie Boys - Intergalactic. batman is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by lil boosie set it off. Helios black has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helios black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, raymond batman!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
batman throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Helios black has been cut.
batman shoots in but black avoids the takedown attempt easily.
batman tries to clinch there but black circles away.

batman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than batman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
black is trying desperately to improve position.
batman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as black is looking to escape.
black tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
black swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
black throwing hammer fists to the chest of batman. What's that going to do exactly?
black might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
batman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
batman prevents black from getting the reversal.
batman pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
black is trying to escape the mount.
batman blocks black's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
black manages to regain half guard. Good work.
black is not content to let batman control the position.
batman not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. batman lands a nice short elbow.
batman is taking a breather. black says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

batman decides to return to a standing position.
batman cracks black with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
batman throws a right and a left that both miss.
black shoots in but no luck this time.
batman throws and low kick but black moves out of range easily.
black fails with the takedown

and batman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in black's guard.
black is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

black has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but batman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
batman trying to control the position from guard on top but black is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
batman throwing strikes from guard but black blocks nicely.

black looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
batman wants to get up but he can't break black's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
black trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
batman trying to control but black is working from the bottom.
batman pushing down on black's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
black is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
batman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but black does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

black is trying to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
The fight stays on the outside here - batman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
batman doesn't succeed with the takedown

and black counters with a takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Helios black's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

batman trying to keep a closed guard but black is proving a slippery customer.
black is looking to work some ground and pound but batman has wrist control.
black postures up in batman's guard and throws a big left but batman blocks it.
batman looking to hit a scissor sweep but black is one step ahead there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
batman has momentary wrist control but black slips an elbow through the middle.

black is working batman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
batman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
black postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
batman wants to sweep but no luck.
black distracts batman with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
black throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as batman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
black loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

black postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

black thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
batman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
black fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

batman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
black tries to bench press batman off him but batman keeps the position.
black throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

black is looking to regain half guard here but batman keeps moving and retains side control.

black tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but batman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

BOOM! batman connects with a massive shot to the dome!
black is trying desperately to improve position.
batman trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
black keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
batman in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
black is trying to escape the mount.
batman tries to control but black wriggling away.
black flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
black keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
black tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and batman has taken his back.
batman has the hooks in. black is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Helios black dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Helios black's cut.
That's time! black's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

batman wants to control from the top but black keeps moving.

Helios black overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

black closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming batman to the mat! batman manages to get full guard.

batman is looking for a triangle but black pushes his legs off easily.
black postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

black drops back looking for a leg! batman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and batman manages to kick black off! black jumps back into batman's guard.
black tries to free his leg and advance position but batman is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

black makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
batman wants to sweep here but black controlling him for the moment.
black postures up and lands a big shot to batman's brow.

black drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and black jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
batman throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
batman has momentary wrist control but black slips an elbow through the middle.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Helios black showed his dominance in that final round.
