Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lucas Maidana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mio Zioa!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maidana tries to clinch but Zioa is having none of it.
Maidana stalks Zioa and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Zioa's face. Zioa staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Mio Zioa has been cut.
Zioa misses with an uppercut
and Maidana counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Maidana drops Zioa with a big left hand and mounts him. Zioa is in big trouble!
Zioa is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zioa doing his best to control the position. Can he escape?
Zioa is still in real trouble! Can Maidana finish him?
Zioa really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Zioa seems to have recovered his senses.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Maidana! Zioa is hurt baaadly! Maidana is firing away with more strikes - Zioa is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
