Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josef Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis MacGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curtis MacGregor looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josef Hanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis MacGregor!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

MacGregor has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hanson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Hanson is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake MacGregor off. It looks like it's working - MacGregor slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Hanson displaying calm under pressure there.

Hanson clinches up against the cage.

Hanson jumps guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hanson is pulling down on MacGregor's head. It's preventing any offense from MacGregor, at least for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MacGregor goes for an armbar but Hanson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hanson.
MacGregor looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hanson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Hanson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hanson working the head and body with strikes.
MacGregor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hanson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
MacGregor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for MacGregor.

Hanson tries to close the distance and clinch up but MacGregor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
MacGregor shoots for a takedown but Hanson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hanson is looking for a counter combo.
Hanson shoots in for a takedown but MacGregor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

MacGregor tries to keep at a distance but Hanson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hanson jumps guard but MacGregor stands there with Hanson around his waist. Hanson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Nice takedown defense from Hanson. No joy for MacGregor on that attempt.

MacGregor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hanson doesn't manage to clinch there - MacGregor circles away.

Hanson feints and as MacGregor raises his hands in defense, Hanson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hanson wanted to stand there but MacGregor had control of the position.
MacGregor is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hanson moves into full guard.

MacGregor is looking to work some ground and pound but Hanson has wrist control.

Hanson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. MacGregor is aware though and is defending well.
Hanson keeping moving, preventing MacGregor from controlling successfully.
MacGregor stays in close to Hanson's body and controls the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hanson striking off his back but it's not causing MacGregor any problems.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hanson wants to land a leg kick but MacGregor is out of range.
MacGregor takes a swing at Hanson's ribcage but misses.
MacGregor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hanson's waist but Hanson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing MacGregor off to one side.
Curtis MacGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hanson moves into the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hanson manages to pull guard.
Hanson wants to stand up but MacGregor is controlling him.
MacGregor wants to control from the top but Hanson keeps moving.
MacGregor wants to stand and escape but instead Hanson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hanson is looking to stand up but MacGregor won't let him.

MacGregor wants to sweep here but Hanson controlling him for the moment.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hanson got a little sloppy there for a moment and MacGregor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hanson has managed to get both his arms back between MacGregor's legs - danger averted.
