Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeramy Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Teijeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeramy Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Teijeira!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Charles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Charles shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Teijeira counters with a right hand to the body.
Teijeira throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Jeramy Charles has been cut.
Teijeira looks for the body kick but Charles saw that one coming.
Teijeira fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Teijeira has Charles up against the cage in a clinch.
Charles is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Teijeira to keep the fight standing.

Teijeira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Charles's waist but Charles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Teijeira off to one side.

Charles shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Charles was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Charles decides to stand up, so the ref orders Teijeira to his feet.

A punch lands to the side of Charles 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Teijeira throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Charles.
Teijeira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Charles's waist but Charles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Teijeira off to one side.
Charles seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Teijeira throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Teijeira throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Teijeira just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromCharles.

Charles stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Charles wants it to stay on the feet.
Teijeira moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Teijeira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Charles tries to avoid it but Teijeira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Charles to the ground. Charles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Teijeira doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Charles counters with a one-two to the body.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Teijeira. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Charles is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Teijeira pulls him back up using the underhooks.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Charles holds on and takes a little breather.
Charles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Teijeira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Teijeira drops back looking for a leg! Charles is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Charles manages to kick Teijeira off! Teijeira jumps back into Charles's guard.

Charles thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Teijeira seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Charles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

I would just about give that final round to Marcelo Teijeira.
Well Teijeira has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
