Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dominick Hinton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dario Verovic!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Verovic shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hinton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Hinton is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Verovic stalling in the clinch.
Verovic has Hinton pressed against the cage, preventing Hinton from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Verovic manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Verovic throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Hinton scoring with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hinton lands a couple of elbows.
Verovic manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hinton manages to get himself to full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Verovic throws a strike but Hinton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Verovic wants to stand but Hinton is controlling the position.
Verovic utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Verovic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hinton defends it easily.
Verovic has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hinton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Verovic has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hinton has managed to get both his arms back between Verovic's legs - danger averted.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Verovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Verovic has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hinton should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Verovic has tightened it up now! Hinton should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
