Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Balian Ibelian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ibelian has taken the fight to the clinch.

Obrien tries to get to full guard but Ibelian has control of the leg.
Ibelian drops an elbow to the side of Obrien's head.

Ibelian stands up out of the half guard.
Obrien avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ibelian on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Obrien. Obrien obviously looking to wear him down.
Obrien throws a wild body kick that Ibelian sees coming a mile off.
Obrien shoots in looking for a takedown but Ibelian manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Obrien's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Obrien shoots for a double leg takedown but Ibelian sprawls well. He's pushed Obrien's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ibelian gets control of Obrien's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ibelian will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ibelian has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Obrien counters with a left and a right that stings Ibelian.

Obrien shoots for a double leg takedown but Ibelian sprawls well. He's pushed Obrien's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ibelian closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ibelian is trying to control the action in half guard but Obrien is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Obrien wants to improve his position but Ibelian is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Obrien tries to buck Ibelian off but Ibelian is having none of it.

Ibelian takes a little break here. Obrien wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Obrien holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Ibelian doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Obrien really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
