PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Bielkheden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silas Silasis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Bielkheden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Silas Silasis!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silasis shoots in and drives through. Bielkheden sprawls well.
Horrible takedown by Silasis or perhaps it was just good defense by Bielkheden which made him look bad.
Bielkheden is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Silasis.
Silasis ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Silasis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
David Bielkheden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Silas Silasis.
Silasis tries to clinch up but Bielkheden circles away and keeps his distance.
Bielkheden tries for a takedown but Silasis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Bielkheden wants to control but Silasis is keeping him busy.

Silasis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bielkheden.
Bielkheden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bielkheden thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bielkheden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bielkheden prevents Silasis from standing back up.
Silasis is controlling Bielkheden's trapped leg to prevent Bielkheden from advancing to side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silasis fails to land the takedown.
Bielkheden shoots in and drives through. Silasis sprawls well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silasis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bielkheden paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Bielkheden counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bielkheden.
Silasis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silasis had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bielkheden is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silasis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bielkheden's back instead.
Bielkheden looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Bielkheden is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Silasis gets his way!

Bielkheden prevents Silasis from getting a body triangle.
Bielkheden just trying to survive but Silasis is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Silasis controls the action.
Silasis is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Silasis gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Silasis gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Silasis apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Silas Silasis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silasis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bielkheden tries a knee to the head but Silasis blocks it.
Silasis is trying to break the clinch but Bielkheden has him pressed against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Silasis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bielkheden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silasis seems keen to control Bielkheden's posture.

Silasis misses with a takedown

and Bielkheden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silasis's guard now.

Bielkheden tries to bench press Silasis off him but Silasis keeps the position.

Silasis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bielkheden is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bielkheden tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bielkheden bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silasis's guard.
Bielkheden won't allow Silasis to get back to his feet.

Silasis wants to stand and escape but Bielkheden is having none of it.

Bielkheden closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silasis circles away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bielkheden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
