Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Patrick McGillicutty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Skaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skaar has chosen Hearts on Fire as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Patrick McGillicutty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Skaar!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skaar fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McGillicutty looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
McGillicutty shoots in for a takedown but Skaar shows good takedown defense.
Roy Skaar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skaar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

McGillicutty scores a takedown into full mount!
McGillicutty breaks from Skaar's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Skaar wants to control but McGillicutty is having none of it.

McGillicutty looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Skaar wants to hold on but McGillicutty pushes him away.
Skaar avoids a series of strikes thrown by McGillicutty.
McGillicutty avoids the attempt from Skaar to control.
Skaar slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Skaar wants to improve his position but McGillicutty is controlling well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McGillicutty wants to control from the top but Skaar keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Skaar lands with a nice combination. McGillicutty backs away looking to recover.
Skaar tries to close the distance and clinch but McGillicutty swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Skaar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McGillicutty closes this distance looking for a takedown but Skaar circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Skaar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Skaar throws a right and a left that McGillicutty avoids nicely.

Skaar misses with a jab, cross combination.
McGillicutty shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Skaar as he avoids it easily.

The fighters circling - Skaar throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

McGillicutty has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Skaar avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Skaar goes for a takedown attempt but McGillicutty pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

McGillicutty is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McGillicutty looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Skaar is fending him off so far but McGillicutty persists. Nope, Skaar circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Skaar can do anything to dispel that myth.

Skaar wants to stand but McGillicutty is controlling the position.

McGillicutty drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McGillicutty jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McGillicutty had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Skaar is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. McGillicutty Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Skaar's back instead.

I think Skaar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
