Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Petie Mcpot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Vermeulen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vermeulen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Born to be Wild kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Vermeulen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vermeulen tries to clinch up.
Vermeulen dodges the punch combination from Mcpot.

Vermeulen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Vermeulen enables Mcpot to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vermeulen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Mcpot stands up from Vermeulen's guard - Mcpot perhaps looking for a knockout.

Mcpot gets tackled into the cage by Vermeulen. Vermeulen maintains the clinch.
Mcpot has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Vermeulen after a bit of a struggle.

Vermeulen throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mcpot.

Mcpot looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vermeulen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Vermeulen leaves Mcpot with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The fight stays on the outside here - Vermeulen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vermeulen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mcpot manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mcpot moves in looking to clinch but Vermeulen pushes him off.

Dave Vermeulen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vermeulen pushes Mcpot away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mcpot gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Vermeulen sneaks out the side door and pushes Mcpot away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dave Vermeulen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mcpot tries to score a body lock takedown but Vermeulen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Vermeulen comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Mcpot jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vermeulen walks away with a smile on his face. Mcpot gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Vermeulen lands a damaging elbow.
Vermeulen using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mcpot has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Vermeulen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
