Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector Loctor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Montes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hector Loctor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Montes!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loctor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Montes. Those never looked like landing.
Loctor appears to be looking for a big counter.
Loctor shoots in looking for a takedown but Montes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Loctor's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A combination from Montes does no damage.
Loctor feinted with a counter takedown.
Montes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Loctor circles away quickly and effectively.
Montes throws a series of punches but Loctor avoids them all with ease.
Loctor tries to bum rush Montes with a series of wild strikes but Montes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Loctor holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Loctor is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Loctor gets control of Montes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Loctor will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Montes wanted to stand there but Loctor had control of the position.
Montes is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Montes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Loctor at a distance.

Loctor has managed to clinch.
Loctor has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Montes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Loctor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Montes uses from the top position.

Montes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Loctor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Loctor looks for the body kick but Montes saw that one coming.
It seemed like Montes was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Montes just misses with a punch to the body.
Montes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Loctor takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Loctor tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Montes defends well and Loctor ends up having to push Montes into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Montes changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Loctor is breathing heavily.
Montes throws a body punch but Loctor moves out of range.
Montes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Loctor eats them both and turns towards Montes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Loctor could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Loctor is rocked!
Montes just misses with a punch to the body.
Oh Loctor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheers as Montes lands an impressive looking overhand right. Loctor doesn't seem phased though.

Loctor has taken the fight to the clinch.
Loctor seems to have got his legs back now.
Loctor jumps guard but Montes stands there with Loctor around his waist. Loctor gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Montes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Loctor wants a takedown.

and Loctor counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Loctor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Montes's waist but Montes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Loctor off to one side.
Montes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Loctor stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Montes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Montes lands with an uppercut that bounces Loctor off the cage and back into range.
Montes jabs Loctor to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Loctor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Montes avoids it really well and circles away.

Loctor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Montes tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Montes is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Montes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Montes throws a body shot but no joy.
Montes scores with a hook to the body. Loctor takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Montes lands a nice hook to Loctor's body. Loctor takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Loctor throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Decent striking displayed by Montes there.

Loctor ducks straight into an uppercut from Montes and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Loctor manages to regain guard straight away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Montes prevents Loctor from getting back to his feet.
Montes wants to stand but Loctor is controlling his posture from full guard.

Loctor has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Montes off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Montes lunges at Loctor with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Loctor's hand.


Hector Loctor's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Montes cracks Loctor with a big right hand and Loctor goes down!

Loctor has his foot on Montes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Montes works his way back into a safe position though.

Loctor is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Montes is looking to stand up but Loctor won't let him.
Montes wants to stand and escape but instead Loctor has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Loctor is standing up over Montes. Montes looks to escape but Loctor dives into side control.

Loctor stands up and beckons Montes to his feet.
Hector Loctor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Loctor shoots in but Montes avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Loctor takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Montes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Loctor at a distance.

Montes throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Montes lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Loctor goes down and covers up as Montes starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Montes!
Johnny Montes tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
