Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brooklyn King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodrigo Akenzua!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King blocks a head kick by Akenzua.
As Akenzua backs away, King returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Akenzua is looking to clinch.
It looked like King wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A good leg kick by King.
Akenzua throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Akenzua throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and King counters with an inside leg kick.
King seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Akenzua throws a leg kick
and King counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Akenzua tries to clinch but fails miserably
and King counters with a series of strikes. Akenzua will be more careful next time no doubt.
Akenzua misses with the combination.
King swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Akenzua has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Akenzua there as he acknowledges the shot.
Akenzua is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Akenzua throws a left and a right that both miss
and King counters with a crisp right that sends Akenzua to the canvas! King follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brooklyn King!
