Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson tries to clinch up.
Olson is looking to counter with head kicks.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Patterson.

Patterson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Olson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Patterson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Olson's legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Olson dodges the ground and pound from Patterson.
Olson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Olson regains half guard there - taking advantage of Patterson's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Olson is looking to control Patterson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Olson avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patterson is trying to control. Olson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Olson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Patterson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Patterson's back!

Olson has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Patterson.

Olson just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Olson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Patterson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Olson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Patterson connects with a nice short shot to Olson's temple.

Olson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Olson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Olson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Patterson tries to hold on but Olson pushes him away.
Olson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Patterson can do to turn this around?
Patterson is desperately trying to improve his position but Olson has a good base and remains in mount.
Olson cracks Patterson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Patterson wants to control but Olson is having none of it.
Olson looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Patterson wants to hold on but Olson pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darnell Olson dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.

Patterson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Patterson manages to end up in side control.

Olson wants to sweep here but Patterson controlling him for the moment.

Olson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Patterson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Olson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Olson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Patterson avoids it really well and circles away.
Patterson throws a sloppy head kick and Olson moves out of range easily.

Olson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Patterson, up you get!
Patterson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Patterson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Olson keeps the fight on the outside.
As Patterson tries to get set, Olson tries to push him back and clinch up but Patterson manages to avoid the attempt.

Olson gets caught flat footed, as Patterson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Patterson wants to pass the guard but Olson is keeping the position.
Olson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Olson content to control rather than advance.
Patterson wants to get back to full guard.
Patterson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Olson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Olson lands a nice shot to the head.

Darnell Olson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Olson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Patterson looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Darnell Olson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Chris Patterson.
