Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julian May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Senanga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julian May!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Senanga!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Senanga throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. May was covering up waiting for the punch and Senanga finishes the takedown easily into guard.
May managing to control the position.
Senanga wants to control from the top but May keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

May scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Senanga thuds his right hand into May's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

That's one minute gone in the round.
May shoots for a double leg takedown but Senanga sprawls well. He's pushed May's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jeff Senanga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Senanga darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

May manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Senanga keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

May gets control of Senanga's arms and successfully pulls guard. May will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Senanga wanted to stand there but May had control of the position.
May seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
May keeping moving, preventing Senanga from controlling successfully.
Senanga is looking to pass into half guard but May pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now May is in guard.

May might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Senanga is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Senanga is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

May thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
May slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Senanga is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst May is controlling him.
May stopping the sweep attempt from Senanga.

May stands and steps away. Senanga gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

May gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Senanga takes an elbow to the forehead.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, May creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Senanga tightens his grip and picks May up, before dumping him to the ground. May manages to land in guard.

May uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Senanga looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A head kick by Senanga misses

and May counters by moving into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Senanga jumps into guard, dragging May to the mat.
May is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
May could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
May has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

May drops back looking for a leg! Senanga is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Senanga manages to kick May off! May jumps back into Senanga's guard.
May showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julian May dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



May changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Senanga looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Senanga tries to bench press May off him but May keeps the position.

May stands up.
A thudding body kick lands there by Senanga!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Senanga looking to score a takedown here. May is defending well but Senanga drives through and ends up in May's guard.
May is pulling down on Senanga's head. It's preventing any offense from Senanga, at least for the moment.
Julian May overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Senanga wants to control from the top but May keeps moving.
Senanga is breathing heavily.
May is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
This is a sustained period of stalling by May.
Senanga looking to sit in guard and control but May gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
May content to stall in guard here.
May continues to hold on tight.

May decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Senanga, up you get!
Jeff Senanga is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Senanga shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. May is trying to defend but Senanga finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

May manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

May moves into the clinch.
Senanga's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Senanga pulls guard successfully.
May stays in close to Senanga's body and controls the position.

May stands up and waves to Senanga to follow him.
May tries for a takedown but Senanga sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

May pushes Senanga up against the cage in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Senanga jumps into guard, dragging May to the mat.
May not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells May's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

May stands up from guard. Let's bang!

May darts in and clinches Senanga up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

May escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
May cracks Senanga with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

May gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
May lands a right hand that snaps the head of Senanga backwards.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from May.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julian May dominated that second round.
That's time! May's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



May shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Senanga has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but May is on him like a limpet, forcing Senanga back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, May creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
May creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Senanga's defenses.
May leaning against his opponent.
Senanga looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Senanga has picked May up - he's going for a ride! Senanga dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
May is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Senanga can do to turn this around?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
May is looking to escape.
May is controlling Senanga's trapped leg to prevent Senanga from advancing to side control.
Senanga seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but May does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Senanga takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

May makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Senanga closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Senanga lands in his opponent's guard.

May has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Senanga is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Senanga ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Senanga no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

May gets to his feet. Senanga looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

May feints and as Senanga raises his hands in defense, May changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
May is standing up over Senanga. Senanga looks to escape but May dives into side control.

May controlling from side mount.

May decides to stand back up.

May has managed to clinch.

May has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Senanga uses from the top position.
May controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
May continues to stall.

May is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
May lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by May.
May is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
May displaying some good clinch control by pressing Senanga up against the cage.
May pressing his opponent against the cage.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with May for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

May breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jeff Senanga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Julian May is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

May closes the distance and clinches.

And that's the end of the fight!
Julian May showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for May, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
