Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates throws a head kick that misses.
Johnson scoring well with a low kick there.
A head kick misses from Johnson.
Bates throws a big counter combination but Johnson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bates did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.
Johnson stands up from half guard.
Bates rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bates pulls guard.
Bates utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bates is looking to stand back up but Johnson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Bates.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bates. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson is trying to control. Bates wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson wants to free his trapped foot but Bates is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bates wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Johnson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bates is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Johnson is tapping! Great win for Bates!
