Calirante comes to the cage accompanied by Bob Marley - I Shot The Sheriff. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Santiago Calirante!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Konrad Husky!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calirante throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Husky throws a sloppy head kick and Calirante moves out of range easily.
Calirante throws a body shot but no joy.
Calirante defending well as Husky loads up on a big left hand.
Husky throws the left hand but Calirante avoids the punch easily.

Husky closes the distance and clinches.
Calirante tries to work over Husky's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Husky takes a shot to the head.
Calirante scores with a shot to the side of Husky's head.
Husky tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Husky misses with a knee to the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Husky.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Husky throws an elbow that misses.
Calirante blocks an uppercut.
Calirante misses with a hook to the ribs.
Husky misses with a punch to the body.
Husky tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Husky tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Calirante managing to block the knees to the body from Husky.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Husky throws a punch but it's blocked by Calirante.

Husky pulls guard.
Calirante trying to stand up but can't free himself from Husky's guard.
Calirante working some strikes from top position.
Our spies down at at LOD: Purpose Training Center™ inform us that Husky has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Husky escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Calirante gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Calirante wants to control from the top but Husky keeps moving.

Calirante got a little sloppy there for a moment and Husky has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Calirante has managed to get both his arms back between Husky's legs - danger averted.
Husky controls Calirante momentarily but Calirante frees himself.

Husky is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Calirante defends well.
Calirante's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Calirante is pushing down on Husky's leg trying to pass to half guard. Husky is fighting to maintain full guard but Calirante has managed to sneak the leg through.
Husky trying to hold on to Calirante's head to control him but Calirante postures up.
Calirante is keen to just control but Husky is a slippery customer.
Calirante is really struggling to control Husky but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Husky tries to get to full guard but Calirante has control of the leg.

Husky preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Husky gets back to full guard.
Calirante trying to control the position from guard on top but Husky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Husky being controlled here, momentarily.

Husky is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Calirante defends well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Husky keeping moving, preventing Calirante from controlling successfully.

Husky pushes a forearm under Calirante's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Calirante is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Konrad Husky!
