Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sidney Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allen Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sidney Petersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Allen Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petersen tries to clinch up.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Petersen sprawls well. Petersen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Petersen tries to counter with a takedown but Jones is quick to defend against it.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Petersen, pushing him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones gets control of Petersen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jones will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jones should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

letting Petersen counter with a right hand.
Jones goes for a double leg but Petersen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Petersen continues to drive forward.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Petersen, which made it look bad.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Petersen moves into range and clinches up with Jones.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jones jumps guard but Petersen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Petersen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jones drives through and clinches with Petersen against the cage.
Jones can't get the takedown.
Sidney Petersen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Allen Jones.

Petersen misses with the head strike.
Petersen wants to break free but Jones has control.
Petersen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Petersen jumps guard but Jones turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Petersen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.

Petersen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jones has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Petersen after a bit of a struggle.

Petersen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Petersen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones.
Sidney Petersen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones fails with the takedown.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Jones misses with a head kick.

Petersen clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.
Petersen is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Petersen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jones regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Petersen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Petersen.

Petersen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Petersen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Petersen seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Petersen decides to stand and escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Petersen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
As Jones looks to move away, Petersen throws a big counter combo but Jones just gets out of the way.

and Petersen counters with a three punch combo that has Jones backing up. Jones nods at Petersen to acknowledge the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sidney Petersen dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones is looking for a takedown.
Petersen lands with a right to the head.
Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Petersen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Petersen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jones is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Petersen pulls his leg out and moves away.

Petersen moves into range and clinches up with Jones.

Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Petersen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Petersen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Petersen manages to break the clinch.
Jones misses with a leg kick

and Petersen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Petersen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Petersen eventually gives up the hold.

Petersen is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Petersen to get the leverage.

Petersen wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Jones uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Petersen with a nice head shot there.

Petersen stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Petersen.
Jones misses with a kick to the body

so Petersen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Petersen tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Petersen with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Petersen keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.

Petersen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Petersen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jones pulls Petersen in close to his closed guard and prevents Petersen from doing any damage or advancing position.
Petersen wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Petersen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Jones is looking to sweep but instead, Petersen has passed into half guard.

Petersen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
It looks like Petersen is going to stand back up.

Well Petersen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
