Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colton Parrish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Monson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Colton Parrish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Danny Monson!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Monson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Parrish just stands there and leans against the cage.
Parrish stops a takedown attempt from Monson.
Parrish could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Monson breaks from the clinch.
Parrish defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Monson.
Parrish half committed to a counter leg kick.
Colton Parrish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Monson.
Monson fails with the takedown.
Monson throws a jab but it's blocked by Parrish.

Monson moves into range and clinches up with Parrish.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Monson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Parrish is trying to defend but Monson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Monson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Parrish makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Parrish.
Parrish doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Monson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Parrish has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Monson goes for a double leg but Parrish avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Parrish continues to drive forward.

Parrish sets himself, and Monson steps forward looking for the clinch! Parrish avoids it this time.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Monson is defended easily by Parrish.
Parrish is looking to counter with a body kick.
Parrish shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Monson pinned against the cage. Monson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Parrish shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Monson tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Parrish manages to move to mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Parrish lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Parrish is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Monson is surviving well by controlling Parrish's body position as best he can.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Colton Parrish will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Monson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Parrish after a bit of a struggle.

Parrish manages to break the clinch.
Danny Monson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Parrish slaps away a takedown attempt from Monson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Parrish tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Monson misses with a hook to the ribs.
Nice body punch from Parrish - that landed with a thud.

That was a close second round but I would say that Colton Parrish will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Parrish throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Monson is trying to push Parrish away but Parrish has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Monson misses with a takedown attempt - Parrish sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
