Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dane Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabriel Angelo!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason moves into the clinch.
Mason pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Angelo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mason's half guard.
Mason manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Angelo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mason is looking for a sweep. Angelo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mason looking for submissions off his back.
Angelo wants to free his trapped foot but Mason is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mason actively working from the bottom here.
Mason is trying to get back to full guard.

Angelo trying to mount his opponent but Mason defends it.
Mason could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Angelo works his way into full mount!
Mason keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Angelo goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mason is on top in guard.
Mason lands a couple of elbows.

Mason is working Angelo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Mason with a nice head shot there.
Angelo is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mason throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Angelo's body to avoid the submission. Angelo has instead reached around Mason's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Angelo arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
