Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikhailu Banister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Panther (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikhailu Banister is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikhailu Banister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Panther!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panther moves out of range of the strikes.
Banister throws a push kick but Panther slaps the foot to one side.
Banister sets himself, and Panther steps forward looking for the clinch! Banister avoids it this time.
Banister throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Panther stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Panther shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Banister but Banister pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Panther dives in and grabs Banister's left leg, looking for a takedown. Banister pushes down on Panther's head and hops out.
Banister misses with the body kick

and Panther counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Panther working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Panther throws an elbow that misses. Banister uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Panther's guard. Nice move by Banister!

Panther has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Banister wants to stand but Panther is controlling his posture from full guard.
Panther has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Banister has passed into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Panther is looking for a sweep.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Panther can do anything to dispel that myth.
Banister wants to stand but Panther has his arm trapped.
Panther tries to escape but Banister is in control.
Banister tries to get to his feet but Panther is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Banister in his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Banister wants to stand but Panther is controlling his posture from full guard.
Banister stops Panther from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Panther pulls Banister in close to prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Panther is on top in guard.

Panther throws a big elbow that misses.
Panther prevents Banister from getting back to his feet.
Panther works over Banister with some ground and pound from guard.
Panther throwing strikes but missing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Panther throws a strike but Banister rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Panther controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Panther wants to sweep but no luck.
Panther is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Panther has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Banister lands a jab to the head.


It looks like James Panther has been cut.
Banister connects with a right hand. Panther shakes it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mikhailu Banister dominated that round.
The cut man is working on James Panther's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Panther shoots in and drives through. Banister sprawls well.
Nice defenses there by Panther.
And Panther tries to counter it with a takedown but Banister pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Banister lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Panther goes down and covers up as Banister starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mikhailu Banister!
