Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joaquin Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joaquin Silva will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fails with the takedown
and Frederick counters with a two punch combo.
Frederick could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Silva throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Frederick tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Silva is in Frederick's guard.

Frederick wriggles free and stands up.
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Frederick seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Frederick breaks the clinch.

Frederick is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Silva's half guard.

Silva manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Horrible takedown attempt by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Frederick, which made it look bad.
Jackie Frederick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joaquin Silva.

Frederick shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Silva has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Frederick is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Frederick is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Frederick is sitting in close to Silva's body. Silva has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Frederick is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Frederick is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Silva.
