PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andrea Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Andrea Parker has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Andrea Parker seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Turner!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Hemmingworth and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker misses with a jab, cross combination.

Turner gets a clinch.
Parker has Turner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Turner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Parker drags the fight down to the ground.
Parker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Turner is controlling him.
Turner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Turner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Parker pinned against the cage. Parker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Turner has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Parker is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Andrea Parker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Parker throws a right hand that Turner ducks under and follows up with a left that Turner also avoids with ease.
Parker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Parker manages to break the clinch.

Parker forces Turner back against the cage and clinches.

Parker is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Turner pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Turner wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Parker manages to pass to side control.
Turner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Turner is fighting off a takedown attempt but Parker is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Turner to the mat. Turner regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Turner is wriggling around but Parker manages to pass to half guard.

Parker winds up and cracks Turner with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Parker decides to return to a standing position.
Parker throws a right and a left that Turner avoids nicely.

Turner drives through and clinches with Parker against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Parker is pressed up against the cage. Turner has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Parker down to the mat. Parker avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Turner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Parker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Turner somewhat.

Turner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Parker on his heels. He'll look to pass Parker's guard now, I'm sure.

Turner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Parker throws a series of punches but Turner moves out of range.
Parker throws a good cross that connects.

Parker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turner can do to turn this around?

Parker tightens his grip and picks Turner up, before dumping him to the ground. Turner manages to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turner looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Parker puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Turner kicks off Parker and gets to his feet.
Dave Turner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Andrea Parker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Dave Turner.
I think Parker has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
