Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buster Leon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bones Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bones Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Buster Leon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buster Leon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bones Jones!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Jones has Leon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jones pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Leon tumbling to the mat - Jones dives into Leon's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Leon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Leon content to stall in guard here.
Jones is looking to sweep but instead, Leon has passed into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones is looking for a sweep. Leon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jones is looking to control Leon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted?

Leon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Leon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jones wants to improve his position but Leon is controlling well.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Leon stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Jones throws a head kick but Leon moves out of range.

Leon tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.
Leon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Jones prevents a body shot from Leon.

Jones has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Leon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Leon can't escape the position.

Leon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jones moves into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Leon regains guard immediately.
Leon controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Leon wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.

A close round but Bones Jones will probably get the nod.

Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into Leon's guard.
Leon throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Leon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Leon has his hands on Jones's head, controlling the position.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Leon manages to avoid it.
Leon tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jones manages to circle out of the way.
Jones throws a low kick, looking for Leon's leg but Leon calmly moves out of range.
Leon seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Leon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Leon defends it easily.
Leon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jones is trying to keep Leon in close.

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Leon defends well.
Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Leon controls the pace.

Jones wants to stand but Leon is controlling the position.

Leon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Leon napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Leon sneaks out the side door and pushes Jones away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Jones shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Leon wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.

Jones stands up from Leon's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout.
Leon lands a high kick!

Leon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones wants to control but Leon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buster Leon dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Leon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jones gets a double leg takedown into Leon's guard.
Leon wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.
Buster Leon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Leon has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jones is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Leon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Leon has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jones uses from the top position.

It looks like Buster Leon has been cut.

Leon has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment.

Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Leon's efforts to push away.
Jones prevents the takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jones gets control of Leon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jones will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Jones pulls Leon in close to his closed guard and prevents Leon from doing any damage or advancing position.
Leon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Buster Leon.
I think Leon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
