Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roderick Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Tanlagu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanlagu has chosen Where The Hood At as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. David Tanlagu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roderick Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 29 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Tanlagu!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanlagu pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Davis back to the cage. Tanlagu follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Davis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tanlagu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tanlagu is trying to improve his position.

Tanlagu can't do much from the bottom here.

Tanlagu throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Tanlagu takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Davis remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Davis darts in and clinches Tanlagu up against the cage.
Tanlagu is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Davis to keep the fight standing.
Davis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tanlagu is pressed up against the cage. Davis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tanlagu down to the mat. Tanlagu avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Tanlagu fails to land with a series of punches.

Davis gets a clinch.

Davis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Davis rushes Tanlagu and presses him up against the cage.

Tanlagu has picked Davis up - he's going for a ride! Tanlagu dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Davis has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Tanlagu is on him like a limpet, forcing Davis back against the cage.

Tanlagu is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Davis is defending well.

Davis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Davis is pulling down on Tanlagu's head. It's preventing any offense from Tanlagu, at least for the moment.

Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tanlagu defends well.

Davis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davis tries to get out of the position.

Tanlagu stands up and waves to Davis to follow him.

Tanlagu avoids the head kick by Davis.
Tanlagu goes for a double leg but Davis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Davis continues to drive forward.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Davis.
Tanlagu shoots in but no luck this time.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tanlagu is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Davis won't allow Tanlagu to get back to his feet.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Davis engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Davis throws a head kick that Tanlagu semi-blocks.
Davis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tanlagu counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Davis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tanlagu to the ground. Davis is now in Tanlagu's guard.

Davis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Roderick Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Davis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Tanlagu goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Davis closes the distance and pushes Tanlagu back into the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

We've been hearing that Davis has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Davis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tanlagu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Davis has Tanlagu in his guard.


Davis is working an open guard so Tanlagu takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Tanlagu shoots and misses
and Davis counters with a head kick. That will keep Tanlagu thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Davis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Tanlagu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Davis defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Tanlagu misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Well Davis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
