The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson closes the distance and clinches.
Sokolsky has Sampson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sampson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Sokolsky tries to pull guard but Sampson holds him up against the cage and eventually Sokolsky drops back down to his feet.
Roosevelt Sampson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Irving Sokolsky.

Sampson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sokolsky is trying to hold Sampson in close to prevent damage but Sampson has managed to pass into half guard.
Sokolsky really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sampson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sokolsky is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Sampson jumps into side control!

Sampson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sokolsky is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sampson connects with a decent elbow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sokolsky is trying to control Sampson's posture but Sampson avoids it.
Sampson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Sokolsky is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sampson yanks on the arm and Sokolsky is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sampson.
