Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Graig Mullen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stable Bling!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bling looks for a takedown but Mullen sprawls well.
Bling closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bling is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mullen keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Bling wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mullen keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mullen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bling pulls his head out easily.
Mullen is trying to get back to full guard.
Mullen wants to control but Bling is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Bling misses with a head shot. Mullen uses the momentum to regain guard.
Mullen managing to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bling is looking to stand up but Mullen won't let him.
Mullen controls Bling momentarily but Bling frees himself.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bling has closed the distance and engaged Mullen in a clinch.
Mullen is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mullen has clasped his hands together around Bling's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Bling sneaks out the side door and pushes Mullen away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Bling doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mullen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mullen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bling gets control of Mullen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bling will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mullen wants to pass the guard but Bling is keeping the position.
Bling throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Bling wants to stand up but Mullen is controlling him.
Mullen preventing the sweep.
Mullen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bling striking off his back but it's not causing Mullen any problems.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mullen trying to control but Bling is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bling misses with a takedown attempt
and Mullen counters by moving into the clinch.
Graig Mullen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stable Bling.
Bling prevents the takedown attempt.
Mullen wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mullen is looking for a takedown.
Mullen has clasped his hands together around Bling's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Bling sneaks back into half guard.
Mullen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mullen is breathing heavily.
Bling has one foot on Mullen's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Bling shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mullen as he avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stable Bling dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bling closes the distance and pushes Mullen back into the cage.
Bling pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bling throws a sloppy head kick and Mullen moves out of range easily.
Bling lands a hook that stumbles Mullen back into the cage. Bling follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Mullen to the canvas! Bling pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Mullen has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Stable Bling!
