The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verany blocks a head kick by Mulq.
Mulq shoots in for a double leg but Verany sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mulq misses with a looping right.
Mulq with a poor takedown
and Verany connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Josei Mulq has been cut.
Mulq dives in and grabs Verany's left leg, looking for a takedown. Verany pushes down on Mulq's head and hops out.
Thierry Verany has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josei Mulq.
Mulq looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mulq looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Verany swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Verany stuffs the takedown attempt from Mulq. Mulq gets slowly back to his feet.

Verany goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Verany fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mulq looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Verany fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Verany lands a nice shot to the body.
Verany works Mulq's body with a nice hook.
Mulq doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A left lands for Verany.
Mulq is still on wobbly legs! Can Verany finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!

Verany lands a big uppercut and Mulq crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mulq looks OK. Verany waves Mulq back to his feet!
Verany is stalking Mulq. Mulq circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Verany, and it's lights out! Mulq really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
