The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz walks into a jab.

Acero throws a head kick but Ruiz moves out of range.
Ruiz tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Acero counters with a three punch combo that has Ruiz backing up. Ruiz nods at Acero to acknowledge the strikes.
Good leg kick by Acero there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

We've been informed that Ruiz has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
