Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tsoko Chikatchawan and Saladin Djamali. Chikatchawan comes to the cage accompanied by Animal. Saladin Djamali will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Chikatchawan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Djamali's guard.
Djamali wants to get back to his feet but Chikatchawan passes into half guard.

Chikatchawan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Djamali defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chikatchawan in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chikatchawan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Djamali is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Chikatchawan dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Djamali looks for a takedown but Chikatchawan sprawls well.
Djamali tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chikatchawan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Djamali throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chikatchawan's waist but Chikatchawan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Djamali off to one side.

Djamali is looking to get back to is feet but Chikatchawan passes into side control.

Chikatchawan moves into the clinch.

Chikatchawan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Chikatchawan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Djamali back to the cage. Chikatchawan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Saladin Djamali has been cut.

Chikatchawan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Djamali to the mat! Djamali manages to get full guard.
Chikatchawan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Djamali can do to turn this around?

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

This is a sustained period of stalling by Chikatchawan.
Chikatchawan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Chikatchawan postures up in Djamali's guard and throws a big left but Djamali blocks it.

Chikatchawan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Djamali, up you get!
Chikatchawan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Chikatchawan closes the distance and pushes Djamali back into the cage.
Djamali tries to score a body lock takedown but Chikatchawan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Tsoko Chikatchawan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saladin Djamali.

Chikatchawan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Djamali regains guard immediately.
Chikatchawan is standing up over Djamali. Djamali looks to escape but Chikatchawan dives into side control.
Djamali is breathing heavily.


Chikatchawan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Chikatchawan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Djamali knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Chikatchawan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Djamali tries to control Chikatchawan's body but Chikatchawan pushes him off. Djamali squirms to his side and now Chikatchawan has his back!

Djamali defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Chikatchawan's arms.

Chikatchawan has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Djamali has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well Chikatchawan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
