Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Dodge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deke Dickerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Deke Dickerson!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickerson shoots in and drives through. Dodge sprawls well.

Dodge moves into the clinch successfully.
Dickerson holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Dickerson is looking for a takedown.
Dickerson tries to score a body lock takedown but Dodge shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Dave Dodge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deke Dickerson.
A bit of stalling here from Dickerson.
Dickerson keeps control of Dodge as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Dickerson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dodge prevents it.

Dodge jumps guard but Dickerson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dodge is trying to force a seperation but Dickerson has the dominant position.

Dickerson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Dodge knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dickerson on the ground.
Dickerson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Dickerson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
It looks like Dickerson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Dickerson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Dodge tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dickerson swivels and escapes.
Dodge tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dodge moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Deke Dickerson has been cut.
No joy there for Dodge, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It seemed like Dickerson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Dickerson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dodge looks to land a combination but Dickerson avoids it well.
Despite the aggression on Dickerson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Dodge is breathing heavily.
Dickerson has his takedown stuffed
and Dodge cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Dickerson tries for a takedown but Dodge sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dickerson misses with a takedown attempt - Dodge sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dodge, as that shot connected.
Dickerson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dodge defends well and Dickerson ends up having to push Dodge into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dickerson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dodge counters with a left and a right that stings Dickerson.

Dickerson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dodge to the mat! Dodge manages to get full guard.
Dickerson prevents Dodge from getting back to his feet.
Dodge not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dickerson wants to control from the top but Dodge keeps moving.
Dickerson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dodge wants to sweep but no luck.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dickerson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dodge sprawls well. Dodge wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dickerson gets slowly back to his feet.
Dodge misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A combination from Dodge does no damage.
Dave Dodge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dodge misses with a two punch combination.
Dickerson feints the counter takedown.

Dickerson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dodge defends it nicely.
Dodge went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Dodge rushes Dickerson and presses him up against the cage.

Dodge postures up.
Dickerson tries to strike from the bottom.

Dodge postures up in Dickerson's guard and throws a big left but Dickerson blocks it.

Dodge is looking to advance position but Dickerson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Dickerson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dodge looks a forlorn figure.
Dickerson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dodge hang on?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dickerson wants to control the pace but Dodge is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dickerson lands a nice shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dickerson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dodge throws a left and a right that both miss

Deke Dickerson decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
