The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox tries for a takedown but Cid circles away easily
and Cid counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Cox fails to land the takedown.
Cid displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Daniel Cox has been cut.
Cox gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cid counters with a two punch combo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Cox. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cid fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cox.
Cid scores with a one two! Cox had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cox shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cid counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cox is rocked!
Xavier Cid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whack! Cid lands a heavy head kick that drops Cox. The ref tackles Cid to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Cox was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Xavier Cid!
After the fight, Xavier Cid was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
