Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Kerns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Burgemeister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kerns's entrance music is Johnny Cash - Hurt. A fine choice. Burgemeister has chosen Lil Scrappy - Head Bussa as his entrance music. Daniel Burgemeister is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Kerns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Burgemeister!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerns looks to score with a jab to the body but Burgemeister is just out of range.
Kerns throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Burgemeister's waist but Burgemeister gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kerns off to one side.
Burgemeister attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Burgemeister lands the left hand.


It looks like Jack Kerns has been cut.
Kerns moves out of range of the leg kick from Burgemeister.
Burgemeister fails to land with a series of punches.
Burgemeister throws a series of punches but Kerns moves out of range.
Burgemeister misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Burgemeister misses with a few strikes there.
Kerns shoots in looking for a takedown. Burgemeister tries to sprawl out of it but Kerns keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Burgemeister manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kerns shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kerns looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Burgemeister can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kerns wants to control the pace but Burgemeister is squirming around nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Burgemeister wants to hold on but Kerns pushes him away.
Burgemeister is trying desperately to improve position.

Burgemeister really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kerns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kerns wants to control the pace but Burgemeister is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kerns wants to finish this one by submission but Burgemeister is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kerns.

Kerns seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Burgemeister for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Burgemeister trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kerns's guard.
Kerns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
