PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Hinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enzo Alatorre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alatorre has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dominick Hinton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Enzo Alatorre!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hinton lets loose with a powerful body kick. Alatorre will feel that in the morning.
Alatorre looks winded!

Hinton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alatorre was covering up waiting for the punch and Hinton finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hinton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hinton landing with the ground and pound.
Hinton working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Alatorre looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hinton content to stall in guard here.

Hinton gets to his feet - Alatorre follows without any prompting.
That kick from Hinton tenderised Alatorre's leg. Alatorre is trying to keep his angry face on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hinton. Alatorre shrugs it off though.
Alatorre leaves Hinton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A nice side step and Alatorre releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Hinton drives through with a takedown into Alatorre's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Hinton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Alatorre's head.

Hinton stays in close to Alatorre's body and controls the position.
Hinton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alatorre for as long as he can get away with.

Hinton is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Hinton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hinton keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Alatorre's head.
Hinton is in close to Alatorre's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hinton distracts Alatorre with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hinton landing some decent shots from guard.

Hinton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Alatorre, up you get!
Hinton throws a sloppy head kick and Alatorre moves out of range easily.
Alatorre should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Hinton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hinton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Alatorre is trying to control Hinton's posture but Hinton avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hinton remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Hinton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Hinton scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Alatorre to see if he's OK.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Alatorre shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hinton has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Alatorre is on him like a limpet, forcing Hinton back against the cage.
Alatorre blocks a body shot from Hinton.

Hinton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Alatorre takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Alatorre gets tackled into the cage by Hinton. Hinton maintains the clinch.

Hinton decides to pull guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hinton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Alatorre defends well.

Hinton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alatorre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alatorre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Alatorre is breathing heavily.

Hinton looking for a guillotine here but Alatorre defends easily.

Alatorre is fighting to break Hinton's control of his arms but Hinton is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alatorre takes a decent strike to the side of the head.
Hinton throws a nice elbow from the bottom.

Hinton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alatorre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hinton has a closed guard, preventing Alatorre from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hinton is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Alatorre rolls with it to try and escape but Hinton cranks on the arm and Alatorre is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dominick Hinton!
