PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Alucard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Tee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Alucard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rex Tee!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alucard wants to clinch.
Alucard shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tee closes the distance and clinches up with Alucard, looking for a takedown. Tee pushes Alucard against the cage but Alucard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tee keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
No luck for Alucard with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Alucard. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alucard drops Tee with a right and a left! Alucard comes rushing in but Tee regains his composure and manages to keep Alucard in guard.


It looks like Rex Tee has been cut.
Tee has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alucard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alucard trying to control the position from guard on top but Tee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alucard has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tee is proving hard to escape from.
Tee keeping moving, preventing Alucard from controlling successfully.
Tee is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tee throws out a loose jab but Alucard uses good head movement to avoid it.
Tee loads up on a big right hand but Alucard slips the punch.
Alucard changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Vladimir Alucard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tee bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tee trying to control the action but Alucard is working from the bottom.
Tee controlling the position from side mount.
Tee lands an elbow.
Tee is staying tight to Alucard's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Tee trying to control the position but Alucard is working away.

Alucard is looking to regain half guard here but Tee keeps moving and retains side control.
Alucard can't do much from the bottom here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
It looks like Tee might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Tee connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Alucard some visible discomfort.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tee works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Tee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alucard keeps working.
Alucard tries to escape but Tee is in control.
Tee landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Tee lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Tee controls the position from side control.
Alucard wants to control but Tee postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tee staying calm.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Tee shoots in and gets a takedown into Alucard's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rex Tee will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Tee scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Alucard manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Tee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alucard is working away from the top position though.
Tee makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tee.
Alucard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alucard tries to free his leg and advance position but Tee is retaining full guard.
Tee keeping moving, preventing Alucard from controlling successfully.
Alucard advances position into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tee manages to get back to half guard.

Alucard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tee gets back to full guard.
Rex Tee has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tee seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Let's hope that Tee has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tee is continuing to stall.
Tee is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Vladimir Alucard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alucard is looking to clinch but Tee is avoiding it.

Alucard gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tee to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Tee trying to control but Alucard is working from the bottom.
Tee is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Tee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Alucard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tee swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alucard dives in and grabs Tee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tee pushes down on Alucard's head and hops out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Alucard's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rex Tee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Alucard misses with a double jab

and Tee counters with a shoot takedown. Alucard fights it but they end up in guard.
Tee stays in close to Alucard's body and controls the position.
Tee postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Tee wants to control from the top but Alucard keeps moving.

Tee controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alucard looks for a takedown but Tee sprawls well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tee shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alucard defends it nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alucard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Alucard throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Tee counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ground and pound from Tee.
Tee is taking a breather. Alucard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alucard has hold of Tee's hands but Tee slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tee in particular looking to stall.
Tee's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Tee wants to work for an arm triangle but Alucard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Alucard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tee's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tee's back!

Tee tries to roll but Alucard sticks to his back.

Vladimir Alucard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Alucard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tee defends it easily.
Tee not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rex Tee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Tee winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
