Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bradley Towns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bradley Towns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Towns misses with a series of wild punches.
Towns moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromJohnson.
Towns looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Towns manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Towns manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Towns is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Johnson to keep the fight standing.
Towns tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Johnson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Johnson gets control of Towns's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Towns trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Towns slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Towns from controlling successfully.
Johnson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Towns is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Johnson is working an open guard so Towns takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Towns lands a body shot.
Towns moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


It looks like Roger Johnson has been cut.
Johnson tries to clinch but Towns is having none of it.
Towns looks to land a combination but Johnson avoids it well.
Johnson is trying to counter with his kicks.
Johnson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Towns.

Towns swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.

Towns manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Towns tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.
Johnson is thwarting Towns's attempts to control the position.

Towns looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.

Johnson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Towns's head.
Johnson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Towns looking for subs off his back but Johnson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Johnson throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Towns to regain full guard.

Towns is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Towns manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.

Towns wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Towns sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Towns in particular looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Towns lands with a nice combination. Johnson backs away looking to recover.
Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Towns is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Johnson.

Johnson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Towns's guard.

Towns is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well.

Towns working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Towns dives on top into guard.

Towns is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control.

Towns is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Johnson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Johnson has escaped and now he's on top!

Johnson lands a couple of elbows.

Towns has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Johnson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Towns looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Towns looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Towns!

Towns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.

Towns has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bradley Towns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Towns is out of range.
Towns throws out a loose jab but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Towns swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson moves out of range as Towns strikes.
Johnson tries to counter with a clinch but Towns shakes him off and moves away.
Towns throws a right and a left that both miss.
Johnson wants to clinch.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Towns looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Johnson stands up and beckons Towns to his feet.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Towns keeping hold of Johnson's head, controlling as best he can.
Towns keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Towns doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.
Towns regains full guard. Nicely done.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Towns scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Bradley Towns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Towns fails to land with a series of punches.
Towns throws a combination. Johnson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Good shot there by Towns.

Johnson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Towns tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Johnson is in Towns's guard.

Towns has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Johnson is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Towns circles away.
Towns throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Johnson dives in and scores a takedown into Towns's guard.

Towns kicks Johnson off and gets to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bradley Towns is winning the standup battle so far.

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Towns lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Towns misses with an uppercut.
Johnson tries to clinch up but Towns circles away and keeps his distance.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Towns defends it well.
Towns wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Bradley Towns overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Towns makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Towns.
Towns pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage.

Towns looking for a guillotine here but Johnson defends easily.

Towns is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.

Towns looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Bradley Towns showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Towns has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
