Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Capwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Balrog Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gary Clark Jr. - Bright Lights . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Balrog Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Johnson as Capwell shoots in.
Capwell darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Capwell into the cage.
Johnson misses with an attempted mid kick.

Capwell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.

Johnson wants to sweep here but Capwell controlling him for the moment.

Capwell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Capwell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Johnson for as long as he can get away with.

Capwell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Capwell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Capwell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Capwell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Capwell continues to stall.
Capwell is looking to work his way around to Johnson's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Capwell tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Johnson defends well and Capwell ends up having to push Johnson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Capwell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Capwell off to one side.

Capwell shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Capwell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Capwell dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Capwell's head and hops out.
Johnson throws a big counter head kick but Capwell avoids it with no problem.

Johnson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Capwells jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Johnson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mason Capwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Capwell takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Johnson lands a nice looking body shot.

Balrog Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
