Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Murray English (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Siobhan Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Murray English!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Siobhan Whyte!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whyte throws a hook to the side of English's head but English sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Whyte lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and English has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from English and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Whyte scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Whyte throws a head kick that misses.

Whyte darts in and clinches English up against the cage.

Whyte pulls guard effortlessly.

Whyte looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whyte looking to hit a scissor sweep but English is one step ahead there.
English throwing strikes from guard but Whyte blocks nicely.

Whyte can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as English controls the pace.
English postures up in Whyte's guard and throws a big left but Whyte blocks it.
English landing some decent shots from guard.
English really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Whyte lands a good elbow from the bottom.
Whyte is pulling down on English's head to control his posture.

Whyte is looking for a triangle but English pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
English throws a big elbow that misses.
Whyte pulls English in close to his closed guard and prevents English from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Whyte fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
It looked like English was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Whyte throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. English was covering up waiting for the punch and Whyte finishes the takedown easily into guard.

English will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Whyte is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Whyte sitting in guard, not really doing much.
English keeping moving, preventing Whyte from controlling successfully.
English wants to stand and escape but Whyte is having none of it.
English looking for a sweep. Not yet English, not yet.
Whyte wants to stand but English has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Whyte avoids a punch combination nicely.

Whyte throws a push kick but English slaps the foot to one side.
Whyte moves in looking to clinch but English pushes him off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Whyte closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into English's guard.

Whyte engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Whyte tries to free his leg and advance position but English is retaining full guard.

Whyte is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Whyte trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Whyte drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
English tries to buck Whyte off but Whyte is having none of it.
Whyte wants to lay and pray for a moment but English keeps working.
English prevents Whyte from improving position.
English wants to control but Whyte postures up.

Whyte tries to advance position but instead English slips a leg back in to half guard.
English trying to control from the bottom.
Whyte is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Well, if Whyte is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
English is in trouble now - Whyte has advanced to mount!

Whyte controlling from mount.
Whyte trying to control but English is having none of it.
English gets back to half guard.

Siobhan Whyte showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Whyte can do anything to dispel that myth.

English is working for a guillotine from mount but Whyte frees his head quite easily.
Whyte is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Whyte reaches up to try and control the position but English seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Whyte rolls and tries to escape and now English has his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

English scores with punches from the back.
Whyte looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Whyte might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control English haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Whyte is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Whyte is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if English gets his way!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Whyte trying to get back to his feet but English is in full control for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Whyte's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

and Whyte decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in English's guard.
Murray English has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Siobhan Whyte is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Murray English.
Well Whyte has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
