Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Taran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Hojackin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Taran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Hojackin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hojackin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Taran under the eye.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hojackin enables Taran to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hojackin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hojackin is pulling down on Taran's head to control his posture.
Taran wants to stand but Hojackin is controlling his posture from full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hojackin is on top in guard.

Taran seems keen to control Hojackin's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taran can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hojackin controls the pace.
Hojackin is looking to work some ground and pound but Taran has wrist control.

Taran is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hojackin controls from within his opponent's guard.
Taran on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Taran tries to get out of the position.
Hojackin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hojackin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Hojackin trying to control the position from guard on top but Taran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Taran escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hojackin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hojackin throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Taran is pulling down on Hojackin's head to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Taran avoids a kick to the body.
Taran misses with a hook.
Hojackin jabs Taran right on the nose. Taran blinks but takes it well.
Hojackin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Taran has closed the distance and engaged Hojackin in a clinch.
Taran doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Taran successfully pulls guard.
Hojackin content to stall in guard here.
Hojackin scoring with some ground and pound.

Taran is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hojackin is aware though and is defending well.
Hojackin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hojackin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taran. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Taran wants to get back to his feet but Hojackin passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Taran has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hojackin is working away from the top position though.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
More stalling from Hojackin.
Taran wants to get back to his feet.
Taran is in trouble now - Hojackin has advanced to mount!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Taran wants to control but Hojackin is having none of it.
Hojackin controlling from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Hojackin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hojackin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Taran finds it's way round the side to connect with Hojackin's head.

Taran closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hojackin's guard.
Taran tries to stand but Hojackin is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taran slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hojackin struggling a bit here.
Hojackin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Taran's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Hojackin has his hands clasped together around Taran's back. He's all about the action.
Taran is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Hojackin tries to roll over but Taran keeps him under control.

Taran is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hojackin pulls Taran in close to prevent any damage.

Taran wants to stand but Hojackin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hojackin wants to sweep but no luck.
Alexander Taran overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Taran has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hojackin is proving hard to escape from.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Taran trying to control the position from guard on top but Hojackin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Taran darts in trying to clinch
and Hojackin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Taran tries to clinch but Hojackin moves away
and Hojackin counters with a nice body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hojackin misses with a body kick.
Alexander Taran is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice shot by Hojackin.
Hojackin is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Taran looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nice cross by Hojackin.
Taran misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Taran tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hojackin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Taran has Hojackin up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Hojackin.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Hojackin.
Hojackin lands with a left to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Taran takes a shot to the head.


Taran is rocked!
Hojackin works on Taran's body with a couple of short punches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hojackin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Hojackin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hojackin lands with a good body shot.
Hojackin scores with a body shot.
Hojackin clobbers Taran with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Oh Taran is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hojackin scores with a hook to the body. Taran takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Taran seems to have got his legs back now.
Hojackin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Taran.
Taran shoots in and drives through. Hojackin sprawls well.
We've been told by Taran's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Taran. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Taran needs to keep his hands up - Hojackin had a free shot at his head there.
Taran on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Hojackin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Taran ducks into an uppercut from Hojackin and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
