PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hilton Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toshyiu Nickitaua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Hilton Walters has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Hilton Walters seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickitaua dives in and grabs Walters's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walters pushes down on Nickitaua's head and hops out.
Walters throws a head kick but Nickitaua moves out of range.

Nickitaua has Walters up against the cage in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nickitaua takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Walters manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Nickitaua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Walters working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nickitaua doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nickitaua manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nickitaua fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Walters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Walters misses with a hook to the ribs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Walters drags the fight down to the ground.
Walters is pulling down on Nickitaua's head. It's preventing any offense from Nickitaua, at least for the moment.

Nickitaua is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Walters is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nickitaua defends well.

Walters is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Nickitaua is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Walters is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Walters has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nickitaua is working an open guard so Walters takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Hilton Walters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toshyiu Nickitaua.
Walters avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Nickitaua was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Nickitaua moves in looking to clinch but Walters pushes him off.
Walters seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Nickitaua has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nickitaua is looking to clinch but Walters is avoiding it.
Nickitaua looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Walters appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Walters connects with a high kick.
Nickitaua shoots in for a takedown but Walters shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Nickitaua moves into range and clinches up with Walters.
Walters tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Walters is trying to pull guard but Nickitaua turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walters has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nickitaua uses from the top position.
Nickitaua is breathing heavily.

Walters is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Nickitaua has his hands clasped together but Walters extends and breaks Nickitaua's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Walters.
