The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Varga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Varga not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Varga told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Diaz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Varga can pounce on him.

Varga fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Diaz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
