Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rio Moretto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moretto has chosen Black Honey - Thrice as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rio Moretto!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moretto moves into the clinch.
Come on Walsh - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Moretto is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Walsh is defending well for now.
Walsh goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Moretto lands an elbow inside that Walsh shrugs off.


It looks like Frank Walsh has been cut.
Moretto tries to pull guard but Walsh won't allow it.
Walsh drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Moretto breaks from the clinch.
Moretto is looking to clinch.

Moretto gets a clinch.
Walsh blocks the elbow strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moretto wants to get back to striking at distance but Walsh won't allow it.
Walsh goes for a takedown in the clinch but Moretto prevents it.
Walsh has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Moretto avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Walsh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moretto lands with a light punch inside.
Walsh wants a takedown but no success here.

Walsh is looking to control Moretto's arms but Moretto gets an underhook and turns him. Now Walsh has his back to the cage.

Moretto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Moretto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Walsh looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Moretto misses with the ground and pound.
Walsh is trying to get back to half guard.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Moretto stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Moretto closes the distance and pushes Walsh back into the cage.

Walsh ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Walsh no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Moretto looking to sit in guard and control but Walsh gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Walsh engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Walsh won't allow Moretto to sweep him here.
Moretto wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Moretto is looking for a triangle but Walsh pushes his legs off easily.

Moretto is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Walsh dives into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Moretto is pushing Walsh's head away, looking to escape. Walsh manages to hold on to the position though.
Walsh is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Moretto's shoulder. That is not cool.

Walsh stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Walsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Moretto misses with a takedown attempt - Walsh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moretto shoots in but Walsh avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Moretto looks winded!

Moretto forces Walsh back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Walsh pulls guard.
Walsh keeping moving, preventing Moretto from controlling successfully.

Moretto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walsh. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Moretto stands and steps away. Walsh gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Rio Moretto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice uppercut lands for Walsh. That snapped Moretto's head back.
Moretto looks to land a combination. Walsh sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Walsh tries to counter by clinching up but Moretto breaks away and moves out of range.

Moretto tries to keep at a distance but Walsh has taken the fight into the clinch.
Walsh keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Moretto's efforts to push away.
Walsh throws an elbow but it misses.
Moretto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Moretto trying to control the position but instead, Walsh has worked for underhooks and has pushed Moretto into the cage.

Walsh gets control of Moretto's arms and successfully pulls guard. Walsh will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Walsh lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Walsh is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Walsh decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Moretto shoots in for a takedown but Walsh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
It looked like Walsh was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Moretto is breathing heavily.

Moretto tries to sprawl but Walsh drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Walsh stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Moretto lands the left hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Moretto, as that shot connected.

Walsh closes the distance and pushes Moretto back into the cage.

Moretto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walsh swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Walsh bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moretto's guard.

Moretto is trying to control the position but Walsh postures up.

Walsh throws a big elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Moretto is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Moretto takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
A nice leg kick lands there from Walsh.

Moretto is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Moretto connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

The fight stays on the outside here - Moretto looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Walsh has a takedown stuffed.

Rio Moretto seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Walsh has Moretto pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Walsh pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Moretto tumbling to the mat - Walsh dives into Moretto's guard.

Walsh gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Walsh throws a right and a left that both miss.
Moretto tries to clinch up.

Walsh has closed the distance and engaged Moretto in a clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Walsh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Moretto jumps into guard, dragging Walsh to the mat.
Walsh won't allow Moretto to sweep him here.
Moretto takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Walsh is stalling in the full guard.
Walsh content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Walsh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Moretto is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Frank Walsh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Moretto might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Walsh haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moretto wants to sweep here but Walsh controlling him for the moment.

Moretto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walsh is aware though and is defending well.

Walsh gets to his feet - Moretto follows without any prompting.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Moretto is looking to clinch.
Walsh drops down looking for a counter takedown but Moretto sprawls and moves away.
Moretto tries to clinch up but Walsh circles away and keeps his distance.
Moretto fails in his attempt to clinch.
Walsh throws a body punch but Moretto moves out of range.

Walsh shoots in and gets a takedown into Moretto's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Walsh showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Walsh has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
