Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Piana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Karlsson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Game-Motörhead. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piana takes a swing at Karlsson's ribcage but misses.
Karlsson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pianas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Karlsson misses with a looping left.
Piana lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Karlsson at a distance.
Karlsson cracks Piana with a right hand to the side of the head.
Karlsson misses with a hook
and Piana counters with a straight right hand.
Karlsson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Piana looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Karlsson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rabid Dog in the buildup to the fight.
Piana misses with a body shot
and Karlsson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Piana thinking.
Frank Karlsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Karlsson has a couple of punches blocked by Piana.

Karlsson tries to work over Piana's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Karlsson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Piana wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Piana has a couple of punches blocked by Karlsson.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Karlsson.
A nice right hand lands inside from Karlsson.
Karlsson throws a head punch that misses.
Piana works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Piana tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Karlsson's elbow.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Piana creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Piana is pushing Karlsson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Piana's coach down at Rabid Dog was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Piana's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Karlsson swings wildly with an uppercut but Piana uses good head movement to avoid it.
Karlsson has a couple of punches blocked by Piana.

Karlsson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Karlsson scores with a sloppy right hand. Piana should have avoided that one.
Karlsson stuns Piana with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Piana sends Karlsson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Piana is motioning to the referee to let Karlsson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Piana sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Karlsson's defenses. It connects perfectly with Karlsson's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rich Piana!
A relieved looking Rich Piana thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
