Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Richards tumbling to the canvas!
It looks like Fausto Richards has been cut.
Rodriguez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez clinches up with Richards and pushes him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Richards is trying to push Rodriguez away but Rodriguez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Richards is trying to break the clinch but Rodriguez has him pressed against the cage.
Rodriguez prevents Richards from breaking the clinch.
Richards's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rodriguez chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rodriguez tries to clinch up but Richards circles away and keeps his distance.
Richards tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Rodriguez manages to circle out of the way.
Rodriguez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Richards on his heels. He'll look to pass Richards's guard now, I'm sure.

Rodriguez connects with a couple of short punches.
Richards is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodriguez gets to his feet and stands over Richards, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Richards felt that one! Rodriguez unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Richards from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Rodriguez!
